Who will clash in the Champions League semifinals?
After yesterday’s games, PSG are through to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals, having won the whole game and beaten a weakened Barcelona 4:1. Dortmund beat Atletico and earned a 4:2 home win, so we already know the two semi-finalists. Tonight’s matches will decide it all and we’ll finally learn who faces off in the much-anticipated semifinals. All 4 teams playing today for a semifinal spot are on equal footing. That’s because both matches last week ended in draws, so no one has a lead. Of course, we’ve got to account for the home advantage of Bayern Munich and Manchester City.
Even without their fans at Emirates Stadium last week, the German champions still managed to pull off a draw, which gives them a great mental boost for today’s home game. Arsenal made a few mistakes in the first match that stopped them from winning, but luckily Bukayo Saka saved the day with a final draw.
Today, Arsenal will be dealing with their gloomy history against Bayern Munich since they last won at the Allianz Arena in 2013. Since then, Bayern has often thrashed Arsenal with a disheartening 5:1 score. The Gunners are also not boosted by their weekend performance in the Premier League, which ended in a 0:2 loss against Aston Villa. On the other hand, Bayern notched a win of 2:0 over Köln in the Bundesliga this weekend and is all set to score at their home turf.
Arsenal has had better performances in their last matches than Bayern Munich, but most stats and odds point to a significant advantage for Bayern. You can bet on today’s Champions League match HERE.
If there’s one match to spotlight from recent times, it’s surely the first clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City in the Champions League, which ended in a 3:3 draw, with all 6 goals split between 6 scorers. Absolutely fantastic, edge-of-your-seat, world class football we enjoyed from the first minute to the last.
However, today we’re in for the decisive match at the Etihad Stadium. The four-time Champions League title holders will again battle it out with the English Premier League leaders. Manchester hasn’t lost at home in their last 43 matches, signaling their extreme dominance on home grass. Real Madrid hasn’t lost their last 6 away matches and overall hasn’t been defeated in the last 14 matches, which is important to consider.
Last season, Man City won over Real with a 4:0 score at home and managed a 1:1 draw in Spain. A great battle of titans awaits us, and we dare say, certainly great football too. You can bet on your favorite HERE.
We’ve got the Champions League semifinals coming up on April 30th, which will be nothing short of spectacular. But before that, there’s another round of the Europa League quarterfinals, which we’ll tell you all about on our blog tomorrow. Stay with us!
